One of the, if not the very first, casualties of capitalism is truth, which is that commitment or dedication to always represent reality accurately.

A principal reason that the owning class, and everyone who dances to their tune, lies is because the economic mandate of capitalism requires that they sell as much of their product or service as possible. Accordingly, they are not going to tell you anything that may discourage you from purchasing it.
